Anyone who thinks that everything that can be built has already been built with Minecraft will be instructed better: The Youtuber PippenFTS has seriously taken on the task of recreating our blue planet in the virtual block world – namely in original size.
In order to master this mammoth task, the modder had to use a few aids. For example, he used the two mods Terra 1-to-1 and Cubic Chunks in combination to break the barriers of the game on the one hand and on the other display real geological formations using satellite data
He gives a first glimpse in a trailer that makes the standards clear:
However, this is only the beginning of the project, because so far only the nature of the earth is shown. All the man-made monuments are still completely missing, and that's where the community comes in: PippenFTS wants to gather a group of players to also represent cities and everything else we created. So the project could take quite a while.
The players are supposed to build the components of this part of the world on individual, independent map parts. Finally, these parts should then be put together and make up the complete earth. Now one could ask: Are you serious? enough people to do such a project?
In fact, the specially created Discord server already has over 40,000 members, and the trend is rising. The YouTube trailer also has over 5.6 million views. So there is definitely an interest in the project. Who knows, maybe the virtual earth is built faster than expected?
After all, nobody would have thought that the almost ten-year-old game, which was never really known for its pretty appearance, can still make your jaw drop. Thanks to the new 4K textures and shaders, the game is hardly recognizable.
