YouTuber and streamer Technoblade shared a recent video announcing that he has died of cancer at the age of 23. The Minecraft expert, who had over 11 million YouTuber subscribers, was diagnosed with stage four cancer almost a year ago.
Shortly after his, a final farewell video was published on his channel, which he produced together with his family.
Technoblade says goodbye with a touching video
In Technoblade’s last video, his father can be seen, who first reads a suicide note written by the YouTuber to his fans:
Hi everyone, this is Technoblade. If you see this, I’m dead.
In his letter, which he wrote together with his father, he recalls some funny moments from his career and thanks his followers for the years of support:
Thank you all for supporting my content over the years. If I had another hundred lives I would choose to be Technoblade again every time because those were the happiest years of my life. (…)
I hope you enjoyed my content and that I made some of you laugh and I hope you all have long, prosperous and happy lives because I love you.

That’s what his family and his fans say
After reading the suicide note, his father, in a tear-choked voice, tells how the two wrote the message together. Apparently, the YouTuber was already close to death at this point.
I don’t think he said everything he wanted to say, but I think he said the main points. He finished the text and then… He was done. He lived about eight hours. After that… We all said goodbye. He was the most amazing, was the most amazing kid anyone could ask for. I miss Technoblade. Thank you all for everything. You meant a lot to him.
At the end of the video, a statement from the whole family followed:
We, the Technoblade family, wanted to let you all know how much he adored and respected his fans and colleagues.
Since Technoblade’s first online days, he’s always come up with something to please and reward his audience – running online prizes, encouraging good sportsmanship, and most importantly, sharing his Minecraft adventures for entertainment and laughs.
Even after his successes, he managed to maintain his good-natured modesty and struggled with an endearing balance of confidence and self-deprecating wit.
We ask that you continue to respect his desire to protect his privacy and that of his family.
On social media, many fans, parents and siblings report the positive effect Technoblade’s videos have had on them. Write something like that Jiklim on Reddit
This hurts a lot more than I expected and I haven’t even seen its content in person. My little sister was a big fan and showed me his videos and told me what a great person he was. I remember them talking about the running gag “Technoblade never dies!” spoke. (…)
He really was a huge inspiration and a source of joy to many kids (and adults) out there. My sister got interested in charity work and donated through him. It’s strange that I’m often indifferent to the deaths of celebrities, but this case really shook me.
TotalBiscuit
Games critic John Bain has died of cancer at the age of 33
Technoblade isn’t the first major YouTuber to succumb to cancer. The game critic TotalBiscuit died far too early in 2018.
