^ Left some raw 1440p footage and discussion after the ad modern warfare 2 Placed in the era of modern shooters.
As the second installment in the series, but with the same creepy exercise title as the original, Modern Warfare’s reboot isn’t bad. We spent a lot of time in MW2’s multiplayer beta before its full launch at the end of this month, and found a solid (if a bit confusing) Call of Duty game there.
But we have to wonder: in a world so far removed from the original Modern Warfare 2, which cemented CoD’s sheer dominance in the 360 era in 2009, 2022’s MW2 multiplayer is in a crowded market full of free-to-play competition What place does it take in? Not just Fortnites and APEX from this world, but also from its own battle royale spin-off, Warzone, itself a sequel to Warfare 2.0, dropping next month as part of MW2’s first season.
Traditional CoD multiplayer will of course offer a different experience to the battle royale shooter next to it, offering a range of classic modes and rich maps for you to immerse yourself in. Frankly, not everyone likes the free mode: premium shooters still have a place, and in a world where Battlefield is struggling, Halo is trying to re-establish itself, and Modern Warfare 2 is, frankly, the best premium Shooting games have.
It just had the biggest beta in CoD history, so the old dog is still alive.
Modern Warfare 2 releases on October 28 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
