With the arrival of the first season, the introduction of Warzone and DMZ, modern warfare 2 Got some new content in the form of a Shoot House map, new weapons, operators, and a new battle pass.
As you might expect, the patch adds all of this and also brings some changes and balance tweaks, making it the first balance pass since launch.
The good news starts with the game’s annoying UI. It’s not a complete overhaul, but you’ll notice various tweaks to readability and speed.camouflage screen do slightly Better display of unlocked camos.
The combat log has arrived, tracking core multiplayer stats, and the calling card menu has been reworked to show the challenges required to unlock each one. Blueprint stacks should also be more snappy now.
There aren’t many equipment changes in the update, but one important change is that Drill Charge will now stick to riot shields and always kill players – even if they have Bomb Squad as a perk. Previously, Drill Charges would not kill shield users, and it never made sense.
However, weapon balance adjustments are numerous. Infinity Ward adds long-range flinch across the board on Assault Rifles, LMGs, and SMGs. On the other hand, close range flinch has been increased for pistols and shotguns.
As expected, the Kastov-74u has been nerfed, with ADS speed reduced and hip fire spread increased.
The M16 gets a lot of buffs. Its rate of fire is now higher, its hip spread is tighter, and its recoil is faster. It should also be more accurate now due to better shot grouping and reduced semi-auto shots.
More importantly, ADS movement speed and strafing speed have been improved. The only nerf it receives is to cut semi-auto damage.
The FTAC Recon is another weapon that has received some nice boosts. Its ADS is faster, and the five-round mag might really be worth it now. Shooting enemies will make them flinch even more, and you should find that the hip fire spreads tighter as well.
The SP-R 208 didn’t receive any of the major tweaks many had hoped for, but it did take a hit, with much more flinch when hit. The shrinkage of SA-B 50 has increased slightly.
Other notable bugfixes include removing a dropshot exploit, fixing that weird bipod mount startup exploit, and another fix that made burn damage fallbacks more consistent.
