In a big game, you can sometimes expect everything and you can never be safe from a last-minute delay. But that won’t be the case for God of War.
Anything is possible when it comes to video games, as we saw with Ubisoft’s latest big game: Skull and Bones, which was pushed back to March 9th, 2023 at the last moment. Obviously a game like God of War Ragnarok comes with a lot of concerns. Will the game be on time? Will we be entitled to another AAA delay?
Sony Santa Monica calms down for God of War Ragnarok
Sony Santa Monica tweeted very good and encouraging news about its new God of War and thanked its fans for their support:
We are happy to announce that #GodofWarRagnarok has gone gold!
On behalf of SMS and all our partners, we would like to thank the fans who have supported us throughout development. We’re very close to release and can’t wait to see you play on November 9th! ?
So the long-awaited God of War game is over Gold. It is a term used when development is complete and ready to be duplicated and distributed (on disc, downloadable, etc.). Everything else comes later via updates. Recently we were able to learn that in the 20 hours dedicated to the scenario, there will be around 3:30 cinematic sequences, but also 16:30 playable sequences. A game that therefore dedicates a considerable space to the narrative.
God of War Ragnarok will be available on November 9th, 2022 on PS5 and PS4 and later on PC. If we follow the logic of Sony and its new policy in this area, we should see it arriving on our computers in 1 year, November 2023.
