You know how it is: As a child, you were probably given a gift that completely disappointed you. Maybe you even shed a tear or two.
This is how the story of Reddit user Remote_Inevitable469 could have ended, but things turned out differently.
»Gaming«-PC Marke: Mutti
What happened? In a Post on Reddit an apparently quite young gaming fan presented his »new« gaming PC, which he received as a gift from his mother.
According to the post in the PCMR subreddit, the mother bought the PC on Facebook Marketplace, but current hardware looks different.

How old is the PC? We can’t say for sure, as the user hasn’t provided any information about the technology. However, it looks like an old Intel workstation that’s probably at least 15 years old.
The 4:3 monitor format is also a clear indication that this is by no means a current setup.
We wouldn’t blame you if you assumed that the users under the post were making fun of the outdated computer. It’s the Internet, after all, right?
Wrong! The Reddit community shows that there is another way.
Heartwarming reactions
The user: Although the computer is very old, Remote_Inevitable469 seems to be extremely grateful to his mother. He writes:
“I love my mother so much.”
Die Community: Over 26,000 upvotes show that quite a few people like the story. And the majority of the over 1,000 comments seem to be very happy about the mother’s action.
“Let her know that the entire Reddit community thinks she’s an amazing mom! We sometimes forget to express our appreciation for our moms, even though it’s sometimes implied she’d love to hear it directly!”
Many of the users are asking the user to show their mother the appropriate gratitude for this. Like IcrematePizzas, for example:
»Have fun with your new equipment and give your mom a big hug.«
The young gamer also had an answer ready:
»Already done and I bought my mother a huge Milka chocolate.«
Some users seem to be surprised by the positive sentiment. OneSweaty3279, for example, writes:
“Damn, it’s nice to finally see good people on Reddit.”
What do you think of the story about the old computer from Facebook Marketplace? Hand on heart: would you have been happy about the gift?
