Naughty Dog are not exactly rapid shooters when it comes to the release of new games. After all, The Last of Us: Part II was five years ago (you can look off from upgrades and PC version). In the past, the studio also struggled to look after several projects at the same time. And The Last of Us's multiplayer offshoot was kicked in the bin some time ago.
But now the studio actually seems to be working on two large projects in parallel. The fact that Naughty Dog is working on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet has been known for some time and the game has already been presented. Like studio boss Neil Druckmann now In an interview with Press X on the BBC confirmed, but there is another, previously not announced game in development.
After chatting a little about working with his Game Directors and the co-author of Intergalactic, he becomes concrete: “Then there is another game that Naughty Dog is working on. I am more of a producer, look after the other team, give feedback and am the boss on site. I like all of these tasks and find it cool that I can jump there between the different roles. Makes my job really exciting and varied. “
How far advanced the production of the second title is unclear and it cannot be ruled out that it is still in a very early phase. It is also open what the studio has in the pipeline. According to Druckmann, a third part of The Last of Us is rather unlikely, as is an Uncharted 5 that, if at all, is more likely to be developed by another studio.
But at least there is hope that Naughty Dog will not take several years until a new game comes.
