With the double thumbs up you show Netflix that you particularly like a piece of content.
Netflix continues to work on its algorithm so that it can always recommend suitable films and series that suit your taste as well as possible. For the first time in a long time, the streaming platform is bringing a whole new feature with it – and that should only be the beginning in 2022.
So that you can tell Netflix which series and films you like, you can rate them either with a thumbs up or a thumbs down. You can also tell Netflix that you particularly like a piece of content with a double thumbs up.
The new feature briefly puts Netflix in one blog post in front. The double thumbs up stands for Love it!
also I love it!
. This tells the company that you particularly like this content. Netflix Director of Product Innovation, Christine Doig-Cardet explains the feature as follows:
Our current thumbs up and thumbs down buttons are a great way to let us know what you think of a series or movie, and in return you’ll receive a profile more tailored to your tastes. However, we have learned over time that these feelings can go beyond a simple like or dislike. Providing an additional way to let us know when you really like something means a profile with recommendations that better reflect what you enjoy.
According to Doig-Cardet, you should see the feature as a way to make tweaks to your feed so Netflix can recommend content you really enjoy.
The double thumbs up is just one of many signals that Netflix is telling you what you like and don’t like. Other factors also play a role in your recommendations. You can find out which series and films are new on Netflix in April here:
