news culture Netflix: This new Japanese zombie movie promises to be a lot of fun, maybe the entertainment of the summer?
Get ready, the sensation of the summer will most likely be this hyper-crazy zombie movie adapted from a story by Alice in the Frontier creator Haro Aso.
At the crossroads of Shaun of the Dead, Mayhem and Zombieland, Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead tells the story of an office worker who is glad zombies have arrived on Earth to escape a job that was too tiring. With two acolytes, he will write a list of wishes to grant before being turned into a living dead in turn.
The comedy will be available on the Netflix platform from August 3 and promises to be a good deal of entertainment. A trailer was recently released on YouTube and we’ve rarely seen a zombie movie protagonist having so much fun in the middle of the apocalypse. Below is the official synopsis:
Akira Tendo (Eiji Akaso) works in an exploitative company where he endures endless hours and harassment from his boss. When he wakes up, he finds that his town has been destroyed and overrun by zombies. He’s suddenly excited at the thought of not having to go to the office anymore. After watching an elderly colleague he admired turn into a zombie, he realizes that he’d rather be eaten by zombies if he can’t do as he pleases .
Akira makes a list of 100 things to do before he becomes a zombie. He crosses those things off the list by pursuing homestay camping, paragliding, yoga and other long-cherished dreams. What will become of him if he lives happily ever after in the midst of a zombie apocalypse? And while he’s sticking to his dream of becoming a superhero who saves everyone, what happens when he comes face-to-face with a massive, deadly zombie shark? -Netflix
From a story by the creator of Alice in the Borderland
In the cast of the live-action feature film directed by Yûsuke Ishida (based on a script by Tatsuro Mishima), we find actor Eiji Akaso in the role of Akira Tendo, Mai Shiraishi in the role of Shizauka Mikazuki, and Shuntaro Yanagi as Kenichiro . Kencho” Ryuzaki or Kazuki Kitamura as Gonzo Kosugi.
And imagine that this story is taken from a manga by Haro Aso, the creator of Alice in the Frontier. He recently told Variety that the Japanese media landscape is saturated with zombies, but he “vwanted to try a different approach“. And to add: “I wrote the manga to be a bit quirky and silly. I don’t mind if people find it ridiculous. But there is also a message: do what you want to do as fully as possible.“. The book is also entitlement to a recently released animated series. Exactly on July 9th, MBS and Crunchyroll shared the first episode produced by Bug Films, a new animation studio. For now, the work of animation has been as fun as that Artistic Director.
