Neve Campbell denounces treatment inferior to that of a male actor and refuses to return for Scream 6. A decision that could develop for the next film, however.
Neve Campbell, the iconic actress from Wes Craven’s Slashers, will be absent from Scream 6. A difficult decision for her, but she was not prepared to accept the promise of equal pay.
Scream 6, ce sera sans Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell)
In an interview for persons, Neve Campbell explained her decision not to appear as Sidney Prescott in Scream 6. She categorically rejected this because she did not feel valued and above all denounced the unequal payment of men and women.
I didn’t feel like what I was being offered matched the value I was bringing to this franchise and have been for 25 years. As a woman in this profession, I find it very important to be recognized and to fight for it. I honestly don’t think that if I had been a man and starred in five films in a huge franchise for over 25 years, the salary would have been the same as what I was offered. I couldn’t go on set knowing this — feeling undervalued, unfair, and unfair.
A problem that the actress already addressed last June. A chance for her to say thank you to her fans.
Moving on was a very difficult decision. To all my Scream fans, I love you. You have always been an incredible support.. I will forever be grateful to you and grateful for what the franchise has given me over the past 25 years.

On the other hand, Courtney Cox (Gale Weathers) and Hayden Panettiere (Kirby Reed, Scream 4) have signed on for the feature film.
A return in Scream 7? Nothing is out of the question
A goodbye more than a goodbye? Maybe. If the proposal is good, and therefore fair, Neve Campbell could be in the cast of Scream 7.
I’m not done with this story yet. I like these films. If someone comes to me with something I think is worth… what I’m worth, I might consider coming back. I like new directors. They did a very good job on the last film and I wish them the best of luck in the next one.
