With »Reisezeit« the second expansion of the third Season Pass for Ubisoft’s expansion game Anno 1800 will be released at the end of May. The DLC should breathe new life into your islands, because guests from all over the world want to visit you and of course be entertained.
How exactly this should work and how you can turn your island into a tourist hotspot, the developers now have in their current one Developer blog explained.
Hotels and gastronomy form the basis
As mentioned at the beginning, everything in travel time revolves around making tourists happy. This new population level in the old world wants to stay overnight in your metropolis as soon as you have upgraded the visitor port to the next level (from 500 engineers).
Hotels: So that the tourists don’t have to sleep on the street, you need hotels. The magnificent accommodations take up a lot of space (9 by 7 fields) and have high construction costs, but offer space for up to 500 travelers.
Gastronomy: In order for visitors to spend as much money as possible on your island, you have to meet their needs. But they don’t just want to visit well-known places such as zoos, variety shows or museums – their culinary needs are also particularly important to the guests. And you fulfill them with the new restaurants, bars and cafes.
Each of these establishments uses the new recipe system: First you have to choose which delicacies are to be served – simple dishes need easy-to-find ingredients, for more unusual dishes you may have to import raw materials from other regions.
All the dishes meet the tourists’ need for restaurants, cafés and bars equally – however, certain recipes grant the surrounding residential buildings additional bonuses. Serving delicious schnitzel, for example, increases the satisfaction of residents by +3, and they will consume less bread, fish and chocolate in the future. In this way, the needs of the neighboring residents should be optimized even better.
Two new production facilities announced
With Anno 1800: Reisezeit, new raw materials and goods will also find their way into the game. These are made in two new production buildings: in the orchards and in the chemical plants.
Orchard: The orchards work in a similar way to logging huts. They automatically plant trees in their area of influence, so you don’t have to set up any additional fields as you would with pepper farms or vineyards. All you have to do is decide what to grow here. Some goods (such as jam) directly meet the needs of tourists, while others serve as the basis for advanced consumer goods that will be manufactured in the new chemical plants.
Chemical plants: The second new production facility lets you produce three new goods (shampoo, lemonade and souvenirs). For every product you need at least one raw material from the orchards – for soda, for example, citrus fruits are required.
Incidentally, both orchards and chemical plants absolutely need a warehouse nearby in order to collect raw materials and store finished products.
Buses for lazy tourists
Since the foreign visitors are extremely reluctant to walk, you have to set up a functioning bus network – luckily, this is relatively easy to do.
You just have to Place bus stops at important locations, for example at the visitor harbor, at hotels or at popular tourist destinations such as restaurants, bars and museums.
What you should pay attention to, however, we have already explained in detail in the following article:

The iron tower and the unique restaurant
Last but not least, Reisezeit brings some special buildings into play: The gourmet restaurant “La Reine” offers particularly powerful recipes that devour more ingredients, but also grant additional bonuses to surrounding houses.
The iron tower, which is visually reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, is a magnificent monument and also delivers powerful bonuses to all neighboring residences – the more tourist customers you assign to it, the greater its radius of influence.
Anno 1800: Travel time will be on 25. May 2021 appear on Ubisoft Connect and in the Epic Games Store. All other important information about the upcoming expansions from Season 3 can be found in our large overview article.
