We’ve got another short trailer for the upcoming Destiny 2 Expansion – witch queen. Although before we get a glimpse of the world from these titular trailers, this trailer is special because it gives us New exotics come to the game.
Overall, we got a great set of weapons, armor, Glaives and some weapon crafting samples, which is a good measure too! While we don’t get anything super-substantial, like weapon stats or detailed descriptions of exotic abilities, we can get the gist of everything. You can watch the trailer embedded below:
From the strong start, we see weapon crafting in motion, as players seem to manually adjust the characteristics of the weapons you craft. Not sure how we’ll unlock these, or if we’re limited to making a certain number of weapons, but it’s nice to see a visual representation of the experience.
Next up is the exotic. We start with Grand Overture – a warhead launcher that fires fully automatic missiles at enemies at an insane rate of fire. Below this, there’s a small disclaimer stating that the gun requires the Battle Pass, indicating that this was a reward for purchasing the Premium Season Pass at the launch of the Witch Queen expansion.
Second, we got the parasite – a grenade launcher that spews out parasites that deal “increased damage”. Not sure if that means it does more damage on consecutive hits, or if it hits a ton of enemies as shown in the trailer, but it does suck.
Next up is Osteo Striga, a pre-order bonus SMG that fires swarms of projectiles that appear to explode outward once the enemy you hit dies. It looks like the gun deals damage over time as surviving enemies glow green and seem to come from nowhere. If you like the look of it, you need some extra Casilla.
Finally, we got glaives! Each of the different classes has gained different special abilities, and the trailer showcases exotic blades that complement the user’s toolkit. The Titan is able to shoot a protective dome from the Glaive, providing sudden cover for those who need it. Warlocks can fire a healing well to provide much-needed help in difficult places. Hunters, however, are more aggressive, able to fire chain lightning from their exotic long blades, tearing apart swarms of hives.
Starting with guns, we’ve briefly covered some fancy new exotic armors. The Hoarfrost-Z Titan Box replaces typical barricades with stationary walls, and players in your nasty state can set up cover that’s more useful to your playstyle.
Next, Warlock gets Osmiomancy Gloves. These provide an extra cold burst grenade and give it a slight target-seeking ability so you can freeze enemies more consistently.
The last Exotic we saw was the Hunter’s Blight Ranger Helmet. This increases the damage dealt by reflective projectiles, so get ready to let your staff shine and start offering some much-needed rewards to those who hurt you.
So what do you think? Are you hyping these exotics for the new expansion? If so, you’ll need to start preparing for the launch of the Witch Queen expansion by getting rid of those gun materials you’ve stockpiled. In the meantime, check out what the Destiny community has to say about the Sony/Bungie acquisition.
