- There is now a “Free” button on the Amazon Fire TV user interface.
- The button leads to free streaming content from ARD media library to Freevee.
- If the button doesn’t appear for you yet, an update might be necessary.
The news of the newly introduced free button on Fire TV is making the rounds – and not without good reason: Anyone who streams via Fire TV and would like to choose from free offers across providers can access a large selection directly from the start page:
A simple click on the new button at the top of the main menu, which is located right next to the profile icon and the live tab and is adorned with a checkbox, and there are various films and series that can be streamed for free to watch at a glance. Ad-free content from the ARD media library can be found here as well as content from the advertising-supported Amazon streaming service Freevee.
In addition, there is also content from Paramount streaming provider Plu to TV to watch and access to content that you would otherwise have to individually select from individual applications such as the Toggo app for children.
Fire TV Cube: How to find free content without the button
If you can’t find the checkmark icon to enter the free selection on Fire TV, you should run a software update and definitely cycle the device on and off before you give up. Unless you have the current 3rd generation Fire TV Cube – because according to the specialist blog it has “AFTVNews” did not get a corresponding button due to the hardware-specific menu design.
