Update from December 26th, 2020

As wccftech reported, the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 20 GB and the GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB ROG STRIX could be found briefly on the official Asus support website. They have now disappeared from the list. Whether this indicates an earlier release is questionable, but shows that work is being carried out on both cards.

There is new information about the Release period of the Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080 Ti. They come from the pen of the well-known Europe hardware expert Igor Wallossek (igor’sLAB), which in turn relies on several unspecified sources, which are said to include suppliers.

Accordingly, we cannot expect a new player flagship (RTX 3090 left out) from Nvidia before the end of February. At the same time, the release should still in the first quarter of 2021 respectively.

Release between late February and late March? Specifically, Igor says that the RTX 3080 Ti will only come onto the market after the holidays for the Chinese New Year celebrations. These in turn last from February 11 to 17, 2021. In addition, the first quarter of 2021 is still set for the release of the RTX 3080 Ti.

What do we know about the RTX 3080 Ti?

Compared to the RTX 3080, which has 10.0 GB of GDDR6X video memory, the RTX 3080 Ti should be equipped with 20.0 GB of GDDR6X.

As for the number of processing cores, speculations range from 9,984 to 10,496 CUDA processing units. The latter would correspond to the RTX 3090, which is around twelve percent faster than the RTX 3080 in the GameStar test – in 4K resolution, mind you. Read the full test:

But Igor has no information on the exact clock rates. No details are available from other sources either. At the moment, however, it is assumed that Nvidia will continue to have Samsung manufactured in their 8-nanometer process.

If that is the case, the clock rates should be roughly on par with the RTX 3080 or RTX 3090. A table with exact details can be found at the end of the article.

New information about the RTX 3060

In addition to information about the RTX 3080 Ti, Igor also wants Details about the RTX 3060 have found out. There should be two versions, one with 12.0 GByte and one with 6.0 GByte VRAM. According to Igor’s sources, both models will appear by Chinese New Year at the latest. The presentation is to take place during the virtual CES (Consumer Electronics Show, January 11th to 14th).

Incidentally, the RTX 3060 Ti was officially released at the beginning of December. Read the complete GameStar test:
