The future of Call of Duty: Warzone
Neue Map – Rebirth Island
When is it coming? At the start of Season 1 on December 16
Probably the most exciting new feature in the big update is the brand new BR map, on which you can let off steam. Rebirth Island is the name of the location and takes you to a disused Soviet base that was featured in older games.
The upcoming map is described as a mixture of prison and biochemical weapons manufacture. There should be a wide variety of locations on the map, such as laboratories, barracks, decontamination chambers and prison wings.
A compact and angled design is intended to promote Close Quarters Combat (CQC) – so here come especially close combatants at their expense. The feel of the game should be reminiscent of the Verdansk Mini BR mode. A reduced number of players and a previously planned squad size of three to four players should result in faster and more intense rounds in a separate playlist.
At the start of the new map there is 16 special challenges, with which you can earn new business cards, tags, emblems, stickers and even a special LMG blueprint. You can get a first impression of the new map in this trailer:

New gulag experience
When is it coming? At the start of Season 1 on December 16
With the new season also come two new gulags in the game. Depending on which BR card you start on, the place of your awakening also changes. The rules of 1v1 do not change. So whoever stands last, or conquers the flag in the middle, gets a second chance to re-enter.
- Verdansk: The new gulag in Verdansk is a provisionally screwed-together copy of Nuketown.
- Rebirth Island: The new Warzone map gets a special prison gulag that is located deep below the surface of the map.

New BR game mode – Resurgence
When is it coming? At the start of Season 1 on December 16
The new game mode for Warzone completely abolishes the Gulag. After your supposed death, you still get a chance to respawn.
How does it all work? After you’ve bitten into the grass, a special countdown will start. When the countdown is up, you will be thrown back into battle.
Your team members must try to stay alive during the countdown. If you have eliminated every member of a squad, the corresponding team will be removed from the game.
If you kill an enemy, the other members of his squad will be displayed to you for a short time. So this mode is all about speed and precision.
New weapons & operators
When is it coming? At the start of Season 1 on December 16
All 30 weapons from the regular multiplayer of CoD Cold War are transferred to Warzone together with their attachments and skins in one fell swoop. So the arsenal will be massively enlarged, which should completely shake up the loadout meta.
In addition, the new weapons of the first Cold War season come into play, including the MAC 10 or the Groza assault rifle. In the future, all other season content will also be integrated directly into Warzone.

CoD Cold War: Trailer for the Battle Pass shows new operators
There are also new operators: three new characters are to appear in total, but two of them will only be available for CoD points in the in-game store. Operators are purely cosmetic in nature and do not affect gameplay.
New vehicle: attack helicopter
When is it coming? Sometime during Season 1
The new aircraft is available to you both in Verdansk and on Rebirth Island. The attack helicopter can be found anywhere on the map and has two miniguns that can be manned by your teammates.
The new helicopter is not only a fast way of getting around, but also equips you with enormous firepower to decimate enemy squads.
This is how the Cold War integration works
With the big update for Season 1, CoD Cold War is now also integrated into Warzone. We have summarized how the whole thing looks in detail in a separate article:
