Infinix, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer from Transsion, has just introduced a new battery charging technology that could revolutionize the smartphone market. This will make it possible to charge cell phones wirelessly and without contact with the charging pad. The electricity is essentially sent through the air to the cell phone.
This is how Aircharge works
With the new feature you can charge smartphones and o ther smart devices wirelessly at a distance of 0 to 20 cm from the charger.
In order for Aircharge to work, the charging coils of the device to be charged must be tilted by a maximum of 60 degrees.
Are there safety concerns? Infinix assures that the safety of its users is its top priority. That’s why the technology uses a very low frequency of 6.78 MHz. However, this also means that the charging power is limited to 7.5 watts.
If you want to charge your cell phone quickly, you should use a cable. Charging via charging pads is also often faster.
Infinix will take a closer look at Aircharge at CES 2024. In addition, the feature should not only be able to charge cell phones wirelessly, but also other devices. We are definitely excited to see whether more manufacturers will soon offer such a feature.
There’s no denying that this move sets the tone for future innovation in this space, and although charging speeds are relatively slow at the moment, being able to charge your phone wirelessly without having to place it on a charging pad could be extremely viable – for as long as it does the charger is nearby.
Infinix also announces the “Extreme Temp Battery”.
The company will present another battery technology at CES. The Extreme Temp Battery technology is intended to produce batteries that can function at temperatures from minus 40 degrees Celsius to plus 60 degrees Celsius without loss of performance.
So these new batteries are not only more reliable in extreme temperatures, but also safer because they are less prone to overheating.
By the way: If you are not familiar with Infinix and Transsion, the company is now the fifth largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. You can read more about it here:
Apple and Samsung are losing market share worldwide to a cell phone manufacturer that hardly anyone knows – have you ever heard of them?
What do you think of this new feature? Would you find it practical to be able to charge your cell phone wirelessly and contactlessly? Do you think a maximum distance of 20 cm from the charger is impractical? Or do you have security concerns with this new technology? And what do you think of the Extreme Temp Battery?
