Obsidian Entertainment’s end-time RPG Fallout: New Vegas was supposed to significantly more NPCs included when it included the final game. Fan and modder PushTheWinButton brings this deleted content back again.
New, old NPCs find their way into the end-time role-playing game
What kind of mod is that exactly? “The Strip NPCs Uncut” wants to fix a problem that may have bothered one or the other player since the release of Fallout: New Vegas in 2010. As soon as you reach the New Vegas Strip in the game, it seems deserted.
There are simply missing NPCs
“The Strip NPCs Uncut” now introduces a number of people. This includes:
- Five other gamblers
- Four travelers (two of which appear to be from project demos)
- An MP trooper
- Two NCR troopers
- A Securitron
However, these NPCs do not play a role in the story. You’re just supposed to make sure the New Vegas Strip doesn’t feel so empty anymore. Mod developer PushTheWinButton explains:
“There are actually quite a few perfectly functioning, mostly implemented, NPCs already placed around the Strip, but they were probably cut out of the console version late in development for performance reasons. As far as I know, no one else has been Modders ventured on these NPCs, probably because of the difficulty in deciphering the scripts related to the Strip. This mod completely recovers them. “
Gamestar editor Valentin Aschenbrenner explains that Fallout: New Vegas is still a really good role-playing game today:

Are there any more NPCs that have been deleted? According to PushTheWinButton, there are four other Securitron robots. Activating these in the game is currently proving to be problematic because the scripts only allow for a maximum of five of the tin mates. It is not yet clear whether PushTheWinButton will dare to incorporate them.
In addition, there are five other unused NCR Troopers. However, these were replaced by newer NPCs in the release version of Fallout: New Vegas, which is why it makes no sense to integrate them again.
The modder soon tries to restore some cut NPCs in Freeside. In addition, he discovered seven unused scripted scenes that he would also like to incorporate again.
So you install the mod: Here is a little guide on how to activate the NPCs in Fallout: New Vegas:

- Add the file to your data folder of the game and activate the mod “The Strip NPCs Uncut” in the launcher or mod manager, if you use one
- You can already find the new NPCs in the New Vegas Strip
What do you think of this mod? Are you planning on trying them out to see more NPCs in Fallout: New Vegas?
