Earlier this year, Neil Gaiman was accused of sexual assault, and production on Good Omens Season 3 was reportedly halted as a result.
In July, a report claimed that Nell Gaiman had sexually assaulted multiple women, one of whom allegedly signed nondisclosure agreements after having sex with the writer, and others who had worked as nannies for his children. Gaiman has denied the allegations against him, but earlier this week Deadline reported that production has been halted on Amazon Prime and the BBC’s adaptation of Good Omens, the hit TV series based on the books he co-wrote with Terry Pratchett.

While a spokesperson did not provide any comment to Deadline, the outlet claims that they heard there were discussions about possible production changes. However, Deadline has now reported that Gaiman himself has offered to exit production on Good Omens’ third and final season. This was apparently intended to allow the show to continue production, but according to Deadline, it does not mean that Gaiman is admitting that any of the allegations are true. Amazon is reportedly considering Gaiman’s offer, but no final decision has been made yet. The show is currently in pre-production and was originally scheduled to be released in January 2025.
Last year, the series was renewed for a third and final season, with Gaiman returning as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Douglas Mackinnon, co-showrunner for the first two seasons, will serve as co-showrunner, though he left without explaining why. There are currently no plans for a fourth season, as Gaiman previously said there would be no fourth season.
Earlier this month, Disney also paused its adaptation of Gaiman’s 2008 young adult novel The Graveyard Book , though Deadline noted that the decision was apparently based on a variety of factors.
