Almost two years after its release, Crusader Kings 3 still enjoys great popularity thanks to numerous updates. That shouldn’t change anytime soon either, as developer Paradox announced in a blog post. We summarize all information about the next planned addon.
The upcoming release of Victoria 3 should not disturb the ambitions. By the way, we could already play it and were thrilled! You can read our preview here:
Our conclusion after 40 hours of play
Is Victoria 3 the pinnacle of Paradox?
We summarize the most important information from the blog post for you here.
What is the new addon about?
As Game Director Alexander Oltnir im official blog of Paradox reveals, the next expansion should have a theme that has not yet appeared in any DLC of any Crusader Kings title. However, it is still unclear what exactly this will mean.
The extension should also Further increase the role-playing factor of CK3 and have similarities with the addon Royal Court. An exact release date is also not yet known, but it will almost certainly be at the beginning of 2023 – a total of four major updates are to be released next year.
We’ve already spoken to the developers about the future of the game – and Paradox still has a lot to do:
Crusader Kings 3
How CK3 should become a complete medieval role-playing game in the future
What’s next this year?
But also this year there should be something new for CK3. A free update is pending. And again: when the patch will appear and what’s in it is not yet known. More information will certainly not be long in coming, after all, the update should appear in the next two months.
What else can we expect?
That was by no means all the information from the blog post. Oltnir announces further experiments
It remains to be seen whether the many updates will disturb my game flow again:
Crusader Kings 3
I love it but have never finished a round
But don’t be too sure that all the plans in it will actually be implemented. Oltnir himself writes that some ideas may change or be discarded over time – so the long-term plans are certainly not set in stone.
