NHL 22: Update brings IIHF content, women’s teams will follow

EA Sports is donating a fresh update to its current ice hockey offshoot, NHL 22, which brings new content to the IIHF.

With the new patch, fresh content from the International Ice Hockey Federation, or IIHF for short, is incorporated into NHL 22. You can now lace up your ice skates to compete in the World Juniors tournament with your favorite international ice hockey team. In this context, there are also updated jerseys and brandings of the respective men’s teams.

In addition to the junior teams and the Junior World Championship, other men’s teams are also on board. The Play Now squads will also be updated to the official teams as soon as they are announced. If you try out the new teams and play NHL 22, you can secure free IIHF content for Hockey Ultimate Team as a bonus until January 10th.

In January, however, it should go even further with IIHF content, because then you can also play the regular men’s world championship in NHL 22. In addition, women’s teams will ultimately also be included in the ice hockey title. The authentic women’s tournament structure with a corresponding look will also allow the world championship to be completed here. The integration of women’s teams is celebrating its premiere in the NHL series.

Separated from the IIHF topic, the new current update also includes some long-awaited features: roster swap and HUT content migration. With Squad Swap, you can download other people’s squads that have been uploaded during the year. HUT content migration allows players who initially played on older consoles to transfer their HUT teams and advances to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S.
