The classic NieR Replicant will soon be released in a revamped new edition – and this is now getting an additional episode on top.
Square Enix had good news today for all those interested in NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 … because the modernized new edition of the classic NieR Replicant will get additional content. When the game is available for PC (via Steam), PS4 and Xbox One from April 23, 2021, you can not only look forward to improved graphics, a newly recorded soundtrack and newly synchronized dialogues – completely new content is also included of the lot.
So all versions of the game get a new story episode, additional dungeons and fresh costumes. There are also several skins and weapons included. The extra content is officially stated as follows:
- Extra-Episode – Players can experience a new scenario and an exciting boss fight with the new mermaid episode in the game, which revolves around a shipwreck and a little girl.
- Extra dungeons from “World of the Reused Vessel” – This was previously released as downloadable content for the original in Japan and is known as “15 Nightmares”. Fans can face a number of difficult dungeons here. Playing through these dungeons unlocks a variety of weapons and the additional costumes “Kabuki” and “Samurai”. After receiving one of these costumes, the appearance of enemy projectiles on Emil’s face can be changed via the options menu.
- Soundtrack from NieR: Automata – These are unlocked after the first play through. Selected tracks from the critically acclaimed NieR: Automata can be played as background music.
- Guest appearances from NieR: Automata – The voice actors for the English and Japanese voices of 2B and 9S will be heard in-game.
In addition, there are also pre-order bonuses until the release, which those who decide early can secure themselves. The named mini soundtrack includes three tracks from disc 1 of the White Snow Edition soundtrack: “Hills of Radiant Wind”, “Song of the Ancients” and “Kainé”.
Details on the pre-order bonuses for the different platforms:
- PlayStation 4 – All editions will include an exclusive, dynamic design and avatar set for PlayStation 4. Those who pre-order will also receive a digital copy of the mini soundtrack.
- Xbox One – Those who pre-order will receive a digital copy of the mini soundtrack.
- Steam – All editions will have a special collection of digital wallpapers. Those who pre-order will also receive a digital copy of the mini soundtrack.
