Most of the big summer showcases are now over, only Nintendo is still pending. That will change tomorrow with a big Direct conference.
In this case, too, the word has been out for a while, but now it’s official: Nintendo will hold its Direct conference tomorrow, June 18th, which had been expected for June for some time. However, you won’t be able to expect any concrete information about the Switch 2 then.
It starts tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. German time. Then you can expect around 40 minutes of trailers and announcements that revolve around various games that are primarily due to be released later in 2024. In the announcement on social media, Nintendo also makes it clear: The successor to the Nintendo Switch will not be making an appearance and there will be no new details in this regard.
What could happen on the gaming front? Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD should make another appearance before its release at the end of the month. New information and impressions of Metroid Prime 4 are also hotly anticipated, although this could also have become a Switch 2 title in the meantime. PokĂ©mon Legends ZA, however, is not due to be released until 2025 and is unlikely to be the focus, especially since this game is usually presented as part of a PokĂ©mon Presents.
Fans of The Legend of Zelda might have reason to be happy and could possibly expect the launch of a new game. This is suggested by statements from insider Midori, who says that a new Zelda with the code name “Edward” is in the works and will be unveiled soon. It could also be a remake or a brand new 2D Zelda. We’ll find out more about this tomorrow!
The Nintendo Direct will be broadcast via Twitch and YouTube.
