After the announcement of a Pokémon-specific Direct edition for tomorrow, January 9th, 2020, the disappointment among Switch fans was quite great, after all, initial speculation instead came of a larger Direct edition with a number of new announcements for the current Nintendo console January out. However, tomorrow's Pokémon Sword / Shield Direct may just be the vanguard.
Now the next rumor is spreading that Nintendo could possibly already have another major direct edition to follow next week, on which there could then be fresh game announcements. In addition, the evergreen Super Smash Bros. Ultimate could come into focus and the next DLC character could be introduced.

Where do these speculations come from? These have their origin in a video by Matt Walker, producer of Devil May Cry 3. He has indicated that switch owners can look forward to an announcement on January 16, 2020. This is the previously supposedly leaked date for the January direct presentation, which could therefore continue to exist – in addition to the Pokémon Direct tomorrow.
There is no official confirmation from Nintendo, so you should enjoy the speculation with caution and really classify it as a rumor. Finally, it would also be conceivable for Walker to even hint at the upcoming announcement of special content for the switch version of Devil May Cry 3 – detached from a direct edition.
