Nintendo Switch 2: Early start impossible – console only works after update

Console, Early, Impossible, Nintendo, start, Switch, update, works

Apart from hard measures, Nintendo also seems to ensure that Switch 2 will not give you any pleasure too early.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is only a few days away and the tension increases. And as it is so common, the first copies of the new console seem to have been peeled into the market, at least if you believe the claims of some users. There are hardly any evidence pictures, because Nintendo is quickly removing any material from the network.

But otherwise there is apparently little reason to be happy if you get a copy of the console before the release. According to reports, Nintendo also seems to have blocked the earlier use of the console by software.

A user reports: “Nintendo has blocked the Switch 2. It needs an update to work, so I wait until June 5 to unlock it.”

The not entirely unknown user Wario64 writes: “I must not post pictures, but I can say that when trying to start a Switch 1 game, please connect the message to the Internet and update the system. An update is required to start a game.”

Some media also report that they would not have received a console in advance due to a still outstanding, significant day 1 update. It is unclear when exactly the update should appear or whether it really only comes on the launch day. It is also unclear whether Nintendo just wants to work on the firmware up to the last second or that it is a measure to prevent premature reports, pictures and videos to the console and the games.

At least it is clear that for the launch on June 5, everything will be about the new Nintendo console for a few days, at least until the Summer Game firmly attracts with new announcements.
