A new rumor from industry circles suggests that the upcoming Switch 2 will receive a major RAM boost.

The launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 is still a long time coming and will probably take place in early 2025. Then we will also have official information about the new hardware, but until then we will have to make do with all sorts of rumors. A new such rumor now claims that the Nintendo console will receive a noticeable RAM boost compared to its predecessor.

As is well known, the Switch 2 will not only have a significantly larger display and more powerful chips, but there will also be noticeable progress in terms of RAM. After all, the original Switch is already over seven years old.

Industry circles involved in production now say that the upgrade in terms of RAM will be very noticeable. While the previous Switch still had 4 GB of RAM, the Swith 2 should aim to triple this and then be delivered with 12 GB of RAM.

More RAM usually means faster processing of processes and therefore a smoother gaming experience. Overall, the Switch 2, with its expected technical features, should be able to play much better in the same class as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. We will find out next year how the whole thing will ultimately play out.
