After the cheaper Switch Lite last year, Nintendo is likely to plan to release a new switch model in 2020 as well. It remains to be seen whether it will ultimately be the legendary, more powerful Switch Pro. At the end of the year, analyst Dr. Serkan Toto of Kantan Games claims just that – and he had already hit the mark suspiciously last year with his predictions.

A new report from DigiTimes from Taiwan is now in the same notch as Toto. Accordingly, the Japanese really want to bring a new switch model to the market in the new year 2020.

DigiTimes goes one step further and reports on a planned publication "Mid 2020" without naming a specific source. It also says that production should start by the end of the first quarter of 2020, possibly in March.

The latest report on the subject coincides with earlier information from Takashi Mochizuki, his reporter for the renowned Wall Street Journal, Already in August last year, the latter claimed that Nintendo still had ideas for further updates of the switch line-up.

You give DigiTimes Believe, then Nintendo (as expected) will upgrade the CPU and give the new switch variant a special magnesium alloy. However, other suspected features that analyst Toto brought into play, such as 4K support or larger cartridges, are not yet mentioned in the new report. Nintendo did not currently want to comment on the speculation; a spokesman said that there was currently nothing to announce. We'll keep you up to date!
