In October 2021, Nintendo added the new Expansion Pack option to Switch Online subscriptions. It’s also where fans can get access to N64 and SEGA Genesis classics – and there’s news again on the latter front.
The more expensive Switch Online + Expansion Pack gets a fresh addition from the ranks of SEGA Genesis classics. While the service has recently been donated more N64 games, there is now a triple pack of titles from the former SEGA console.
After five games in December 2021 – including Altered Beast and ToeJam & Earl – the three titles Alien Soldier, Light Crusader and Super Fantasy Zone have been available for you since this week.
Alien Soldier is a sidescrolling run & gun shooter originally released in 1995 on the SEGA Mega Drive. The game scored well for its time thanks to its advanced graphics, soundtrack and demanding learning curve. Studio Treasure was responsible for the development.
Light Crusader comes from the same house and was released a few months later in 1995. The title, which is based on an isometric view, combines elements from role-playing games, platformers and action-adventures and takes you into a fantasy world with sword fights, dungeons and magic spells.
Super Fantasy Zone is a bit older and was released in 1992 for the Mega Drive. The title is a side-scrolling shooter with a sci-fi setting.
