Nintendo will continue to tweak the Switch in 2020 and may release a new Pro model to stay competitive. The Joy-Cons could also get a new feature if one believes a current patent entry.

The Nintendo Switch turned out to be an absolute success for the Japanese, but there is always a lot of room for improvement. The controller should also be optimized if possible, according to the makers; this is now suggested by a fresh patent in relation to Joy-Cons.
The latest patent application states that Joy-Cons could also receive stylus support in the future. An extension would then be implemented in the controller, which the Joy-Cons would use as a pen. With this you could then make entries directly on the switch screen or also make drawings.

Such an extension, which you can see schematically in the attached sketch of the patent application, would again offer the switch new possibilities. The venerable Mario Paint, for example, could be transferred to the Switch in a completely new way from the SNES era. Point & click games could also benefit in principle from the new input method and simplify the enjoyment of the game.
It remains to be seen whether Nintendo will actually implement the new patent. Planning registered in this way is not always a reality.
