Nintendo Switch: Please do not pour wine on Joy-Con

Manufacturer warning cleaner

For many users, games and alcohol are side by side. Nintendo is now warning on Twitter that the switch owner is seriously wrong. Under no circumstances should the Joy-Con controller be in contact with alcohol.

The combination of alcohol and Joy-Con is not good. Nintendo has clarified this in a tweet. The Japanese manufacturer recently received many requests to clean and disinfect Nintendo Switch and its Joy-Con controller. Nintendo strongly recommends that users do not use alcohol or alcohol-based cleaners. The controller may deform or peel off paint. Instead, Nintendo recommends using only a soft, dry cloth to wipe the Nintendo Switch.

Currently, many users are concerned about the theme of "cleaning appliances" because they worry that they may serve as a means of spreading the new coronavirus. In fact, experts believe that the so-called smear infection is unlikely due to contact with the surface. Therefore, the Robert Koch Institute does not currently believe that routine surface disinfection must be performed in the home area.

Gloves instead of alcohol

If you use Nintendo Switch with multiple people, for example in a shared apartment, and feel uncomfortable due to the current situation, you can protect yourself in other ways-such as wearing disposable gloves while playing or washing your hands before and after play.
