To solve this more than recurring problem, Nintendo quickly implemented several options, including an insurance service dedicated to this problem. Unfortunately, the latter, exclusive to Japan, is a paid service that requires about 15 dollars per year to access.
Therefore, given that Nintendo is not responding quickly enough to help players, several consumer protection groups have quickly come forward. Despite this, Nintendo continues to claim that this is normal wear and tear (compared to 2 out of 5 broken Joy-Cons in the UK).
