The non-E3 season may be coming to an end, but Nintendo has confirmed the date for its Summer Direct this week.
Nintendo is known for leaving its announcements to the very last minute these days, and now it has finally confirmed that its annual summer Direct will take place tomorrow, June 18, at 7am PT / 10am ET / 3pm BST. The Direct will last around 40 minutes and promises to showcase games scheduled for release later this year. Unsurprisingly, that’s all Nintendo has shared, but it’s typically cagey when it comes to Directs. You can watch the Direct via Nintendo’s YouTube or Twitch channels. One thing you definitely shouldn’t expect to see at the showcase is the Nintendo Switch 2 – the developer confirmed this last month and reiterated it in the Direct announcement, so whatever its successor is won’t be revealed until at least the end of the year.

As for which games might show up, that’s a bit of a mystery. I’d imagine Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD will get some attention, since it’s coming out at the end of the month. Maybe there’ll be a brief look at Nintendo World Championship: NES Edition, which is coming out in July. But beyond those two games, no first-party Nintendo games have been announced. Sure, there’s Metroid Prime 4, but that feels more like a Switch 2 game, doesn’t it? Pokemon Legends ZA is also coming out in 2025, and it’ll likely be shown off at Pokemon Presents anyway.

Basically, you can probably expect a bunch of third-party games (no, I doubt Silksong will show up), as well as some surprising, and perhaps slightly riskier, first-party games. After all, a new Eversea was announced at the February Direct, a game I never expected to get a sequel, so anything is possible. Maybe we’ll finally get those Switch ports of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess that leakers have sworn for years are real! Regardless, the Direct is less than a day away, so we don’t have to wait long.
