Even though Marvel Studios has an insane amount of projects coming up like Guardians of the Galaxy 3 or Captain America: New World Order, many of us can’t wait to see another film from the House of Ideas set on another big screen on the big screen. very different universe Spider-Man: Crossing the Multiverse.
The sequel to the successful animated film released in 2018 is getting closer and both the public and critics are waiting to see what comes out of this new multiversal journey. However, this topic as fashionable as travel through different parallel universes weren’t always welcome in the industry
“There’s been a lot of multiverse stuff since ours came out. However, when we did it in the first movie, studios were nervous that audiences couldn’t go along with this idea of multiverses. But the public is smarter than people think. Our film opened the door for other people to be able to do things that they’ve wanted to do for a long time, but feared it would be rejected by the public.”
Lord also commented that he knew that the spectators would easily understand everything that would happen in Spider-Man: A New Universe. “We probably gave wings to a lot of studios”says Lord. “In test screenings, the Multiverse didn’t confuse audiences, it electrified them. That must have been eye-opening for the studio executives in the room.”
It should be remembered that before this film arrived, practically there were no blockbusters that played with this multiverse thing. This is when the UCM jumped into the pool with movies like Avengers: Endgame, Loki or Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Spider-Man: Crossing the Multiverse is scheduled to be released in theaters around the world next June 2, 2023.
