“I think it can probably last another six or seven years. The Daryl Dixon spin-off has given me the opportunity to take the show in a different direction than the original. I didn’t want to redo the same show in a different place. I wanted to reinvent it. And I was allowed, along with a few other like-minded people, to come up with something new. So it feels fresh to me. It’s in a different language. It’s shot differently. It’s not really about zombies, and who’s going to get bitten this week, it’s completely different. As long as I keep reinventing it, it’s fun.”
Reedus says that as long as his series continues to receive new twists in its approach and way of telling the story, he will continue to play this character for as long as he wants. Daryl Dixon has helped him give this world a new perspective and he doesn’t seem to want to let go of the survivor anytime soon.
