The first US prices for the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT are shown.
On February 28, 2025 at 2 p.m., the hide -and -seek game comes to an end: At that time the official presentation for the AMD Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT.
While all the important information has already been leaked about the technical data and the first benchmarks for the RDNA 4 graphics cards are also shown, the GPU world is still waiting for concrete details about the price.
In the days before the revelation of the RX 9070 (XT), this state gradually changes. Loud Videocardz AMD is said to have explained in the course of a briefing that “85 percent of the players buy GPUs under $ 700”-this is exactly what the RX 9070 XT is targeting.
From this, the portal derives that the new AMD graphics card will probably reach exactly this price, i.e. $ 700 as a recommended retail price. For us in Europe there are two hooks about this:
- In the United States, such ERCs are generally called before taxes, since they can differ depending on the state. If we convert the $ 700 into dollars and calculate the local VAT of 19 percent, we end up at just under 800 dollars.
- This retail price is the direction specified by AMD. Custom models can (and become) more expensive.

RX 9070 (XT): Another leak confirms the prices
In the context of the upcoming RDNA-4 graphics cards, AMD called a “very aggressive price strategy” that is pursued. In contrast, the first dealer lists in the United States seem to confirm the video cardz presumption.
- An “ASROCK RX 9070 XT Steel Legend” has appeared in the Microcenter online shop, which is listed exactly for $ 700.
- For the same custom model of the RX 9070, however, $ 650 is called, which means that the GPU ends up at around 740 dollars in this country in this country.
- Both variants are the cheapest, which were discovered until the time of the article publication.

Both lists have now been taken offline. A residual hope remains that the prices shown are only placeholder and are not yet final.
Because sometimes Microcenter lists further custom GPUs to absurd UVPS: The »ASUS RX 9070 XT Prime OC« should cost $ 1,050.
Even with the usual manufacturer's surcharge, many observers consider it unlikely that custom versions of the RX 9070 XT will actually be so expensive-however, Asus has only recently proven that one is not too good for steep price increases:
Now your opinion is asked: provided that prices are right – can AMD convince you with the retail recommendations for the RX 9070 (XT)? At what point is your personal pain limit reached when it comes to the cost of a new graphics card? Let us know in the comments!
