The GDC 2025 starts next week and as always, developers and publishers have a lot in their luggage. There was good news in a preliminary briefing from Nvidia.

The Games Developers Conference is one of the highlights of the game year, albeit primarily from a technical and developer perspective. Nvidia also travels to San Francisco and has some exciting news in our luggage that were told us in advance in an online briefing

This started with a little self-praise in view of the sales of the new RTX 50 graphics cards. According to Nvidia, more than twice as many RTX 50 were sold in the first few weeks than from the previous generation RTX 40. However, one also has to take into account that the availability of the RTX 40 cards was devastatingly bad at the time.

After all, the RTX features that represent the main argument for the cards are apparently used intensively. According to NVIDIA, 92% of the players use DLSS, 96% reflex and 90% ray tracing. The new DLSS 4 has already been supported by over 100 games.

Furthermore, Nvidia announces that the new rendering model Neural Shading will become an integral part of DirectX from April. Neural Shading needs significantly less VRAM and relieves the GPU by using the tensor Cores, which are responsible for the AI area for Nvidia graphics cards.

Modder can be happy that RTX remix is now officially published after a long open beta. Revised features such as characters replacement, RTX Skin, RTX Volumetrics, Stage Manager and DLSS 4 are included. According to Nvidia, over 30,000 modder already work with RTX remix and have a lot in the pipeline.

You can soon find out what is possible with this based on a classic. Nvidia announced that on March 18, a demo by Half-Life 2 RTX would be released, i.e. by a remaster that was created with the RTX remix tools. The demo is said to include around two hours of gameplay and contain all features. The demo should then be available to all owners of Half-Life 2 free of charge.

Furthermore, Nvidia pointed out that with Inzoi one of the first titles appeared on March 28, the Nvidia Ace. As a reminder: Nvidia ACE is a number of technologies that help developers bring digital avatars with a generative AI to life. In the case of Inzoi, the behavior of the characters is calculated locally using different requirements.

Three more titles with NVIDIA ACE are already in the MACH. At Naraka: Bladepoint and the new shooter Black Vultures: Prey of Greed, your Companions of AI tools should be controlled, with FATE trigger the facial animations including LIPSYNC are calculated with ACE.
