The live-action adaptation of How to Train Your Dragon is scheduled to begin on… 12. June 2025 will start in Europe cinemas and filming is already underway. And with director Dean DeBlois, the maker of the three animated films is personally responsible for this. Just a few days ago, DeBlois published on Social Media first pictures from the set:
Incidentally, Dean DeBlois is not the only veteran of the original returning for the new edition of How to Train Your Dragon: Gerard Butler (300, Law of Vengeance) once again embodies Viking chief Haudrauf (known in English as Stoick).
This time, Hicks takes on the role Mason Thames (The Black Phone), während Nico Parker (The Last of Us) takes on the role of Astrid. Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead) is there as the Viking Ruffian (Gobber in English).
