If Project Cars 2 was on your all-time wish list, then there’s bad news for you: the racing simulation game has disappeared from Steam and will probably never appear again. The racer can also no longer be found in other online stores such as the Humble Bundle. The reason for this is expiring license contracts.
Too bad, after all, the racer did phenomenally well in our test! If you want to know what you are unfortunately missing, watch the following video:

Why exactly is the game gone?
The title, which is now five years old, has some real vehicles in its repertoire. From Formula 1 cars to sleek sports cars, there are more than 170 mobile coasters with everything imaginable. Likewise, some real racetracks can be found in the game. Some or possibly all of these Licenses are now expiring. The developers announced this on Twitter at the end of August:

GTA 4 also had license problems a few years ago due to the radio music. While Rockstar Games was only able to remove the music from the game, Project Cars 2 would have to turn the whole game upside down in order not to cause license breaches. An effort that obviously cannot be guaranteed.

Music licenses are running out, many songs will probably be removed
Where else can I buy Project Cars 2?
Digitally you will have difficultiesto still purchase the game. As already mentioned, the title has already disappeared from the scene on Steam and Humble Bundle. We couldn’t find the game in the other popular stores either.
However, you could still buy Project Cars 2 in the classic store with a case or on Amazon, Ebay and Co. if you can find it there. If you somehow get your hands on a Steam key, it should work.
What if I already own Project Cars 2?
If you already own Project Cars 2, you have nothing to fear. You can continue to drive your laps normally without the title ever being said goodbye. No matter what platform you own the game on. The online functions should also remain in place.
What about Project Cars 1?
The first offshoot of the series will soon disappear from Steam and Co. Until October 3, 2022 do you still have time to buy the title? After that, part 1 fares exactly like its successor.
Even though the game is seven years old, it’s still a stunner! The racing game was convincing in our test and Project Cars is also impressive graphically to this day:

After all, Project Cars 3 will accompany you for a while. According to our test, the current part is less realistic than its predecessors, but it’s still a lot of fun.
