After two years of unbearable suspense for fans, one of Netflix’s most popular series is finally back. The new episodes will be added to the SVOD service’s catalog by spring 2024. As has been the case for several years with its flagship series (The Witcher, Stranger Things, etc.), the season will be divided into two parts, one month apart.
The Bridgerton phenomenon
The Bridgerton Chronicles is one of the franchises that provide media coverage and economic benefits (subscribers, for short) to Netflix. Created by Chris Van Dusen, this American television series debuted on the SVOD service in December 2020 with 260 million subscribers and received positive reviews from critics. Season 1 has a good 87% on RottenTomatoes. Although Season 2 may have disappointed some (77% press rating on RT), viewers’ interest in this fictional and historical love story remains undiminished.
After the first season was watched for 625.5 million hours, the second season did even better with 656.2 million. The official release of the third season and the announcement of the release date were not surprising events for all fans who are impatiently waiting to discover the continuation of the chronicles of the Bridgerton family in the noble and bourgeois London of the English Regency of the 19th century.
A season 3 for spring 2024
Each season follows a specific member of the family line. The third part therefore focuses on the third member of the Bridgerton family named Colin, who wants to help his girlfriend Penelope Featherington find a husband. The Bridgerton heir will then discover the true feelings he has for his childhood friend. The first part of the third season (4 episodes) will be released on May 16, 2024, while the second part (4 episodes) is scheduled for June 13, 2024.
A second quarter of 2024 full of exclusives on Netflix
Netflix does not skimp on original productions (and therefore on the resources provided) in order to convince its subscribers to pay every month, while at the same time appealing to all film and/or series fans who are still hesitant to take out a subscription.
