News culture Only real Marvel fans have seen it: The Deadpool 3 trailer hides a nice reference to Spider-Man
Deadpool & Wolverine, also called Deadpool 3, is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films of this year. While a second trailer was recently released, fans continue to discover Easter eggs everywhere…
Deadpool 3, the new hope of the MCU
We’re probably not going to learn anything from anyone if we say that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going through a difficult time: in truth, since Avengers Endgame, Disney is having a hard time giving his giant steamer the right direction. With the spread of films, series and just as many characters, artistic creation as well as technical means have deteriorated, as have box office results, although real catastrophes unfortunately occur a little too regularly.
This happy mess therefore prompted the company to review its policies. The first phase of this is To give production and audiences time to breathe with fewer films and fewer series, but more quality. Deadpool & Wolverine will be the only Marvel feature film released this year, 2024.
The MCU will also come through a phase of, shall we say, acceptance of graphic violence and foul language. For this purpose, the Marvel Spotlight label was also created, in which we already find the Echo series and to which projects such as Daredevil Born Again and Blade are added. Aside from that, “Deadpool 3” will be absolutely violent and gory, with some strong words.
Finally we can count on it too the inclusion of characters and universes previously connected to different worlds (and which was primarily owned by 20th Century Fox, just purchased by Disney). In the stack, This includes the X-Men, but also the Fantastic Four which will breathe new life into the MCU. Once again, The next Deadpool film also meets these criteria as it will bring back Hugh Jackman’s legendary Wolverine
Multiverse rhymes with Easter eggs
To justify the return of Wolverine, our dear Blade Wilson (still played by Ryan Reynolds) will look for him in his universe, that of the X-Men, which we have known since the early 2000s thanks to an interdimensional portal. The current trailer explains it well and also illustrates a confrontation between the two protagonists next to a huge, half-sanded “20th Century Fox” logo. First wink.
On the other hand, what you may not have noticed is: is that this bloody battle appears to be a direct reference to Sam Raimi’s very first Spider-Man. And more specifically to the (cult) confrontation between Peter Parker and Flash, in which the former dodges all of his opponent’s blows. Except that here, It’s Deadpool dodging all of Wolverine’s attacks in exactly the same way!
Multiverse requires, we expect this new film to come with dozens of Easter eggs, a bit like Spider-Man No Way Home and Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. To see if fan service will prevail over the actual quality of this new story from now on: see you on July 24, 2024.
