A rather interesting open world 2D sandbox game with a game called Pioneer It’s heading to Xbox Game Pass next month.
The game appears to be a mix of management, RTS, exploration, and a little RPG.
In the game, you will build a planetary base for AI residents, and it is up to you to keep them fed, happy and safe. This is where your basic design comes into play. If the design is not good, the inhabitants will get upset and leave the base.
Residents do more than just live on the base, as they provide a much-needed workforce to keep the base thriving. You’ll delegate tasks such as having them help build houses, mines, process materials, and more. You can join them at any time, or let them go on their own adventures. Remember: power supplies need fuel to run, and residents need food, so stay organized.
Once you’ve done everything you want on a planet, you and your colonists can build a ship and launch into space to explore and find new biomes, resources, and technologies.
The richer your settlement gets, the more attention it will attract, so be sure to build up fortifications to ward off marauders and space pirates.
Farworld Pioneers also features bosses, secrets, a full tech tree to unlock, and many other features, including multiplayer modes and PvP for up to 32 players.
It launches on Xbox and Xbox Game Pass on May 30, and is also coming to PS4 and Steam.
