Good news for the demo veterans of Outriders: After a bit of back and forth, the final boss has legendary loot to get hold of again.
The Outriders developers from People Can Fly have just turned back the loot spiral of their demo a bit, and things are already going in the other direction. From now on there will be legendary loot in the chest of Gauss, the final boss of the demo
As part of a blog post last week, the developers talked about the details and success of the demo version of Outriders (to the report: Outriders: Demo is a huge success + roadmap). In an update, People Can Fly limited the chances of legendary and epic loot from chests and quests a little, and some rewards were even removed completely. The developers were afraid that it would be too easy for players to get hold of the valuable loot and thus reduce their fun in the first few hours of the game. Because Outriders is a special case in which the progress from the demo can be transferred to the main game.
Players who currently have little more to do than farm the last boss for valuable items were deprived of their only occupation and complained. The developers promptly addressed this fact: It is now possible again to obtain legendary items from Gauss’s chest. Gauss is the only real boss in the demo and should now be more rewarding again, according to the developers on Twitter. The developers have left all other chests untouched, so players will still not find any legendary items there.
Outriders will be released on April 1, 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S. We’ll tell you what to expect in the game in our preview.
