One of the main tricks of Overwatch 2 with respect to its predecessor is that Blizzard has wanted to bet on a PvE-oriented approach, including a campaign that will allow players to develop the story that shapes the lore of this universe. An element that will be accompanied by the traditional PvP of this Hero Shooter and in which, in addition, there is so much ambition that its leaders reach compare it with Diablo 3 or World of Warcraft.
It was his own Jeff Kaplan, director of the game, who has made this comparison in the Blizzard official forums, although he has also hastened to say that it is not one of all exact. The analogy that has drawn, concretizing a little more, has been with the Adventure Mode of Diablo III and with the World Missions of World of Warcraft. He considers that there are similarities in the degree of rejugability they offer, although he insists that the narrative will be very important in OW 2. In fact, he assures that "a complete history arc will be offered through the history missions", even if they are given a high replayable factor, "supported by a system of progression."
Without wanting to go into much more detail, Kaplan has confirmed that there will be new heroes for both the PvE and the PvP. Nor has it got wet in terms of the duration of the part linked to the story, pointing out only that it will be «A complete story». It is hoped, however, that this part will be updated over time to add more and more content and the plot will continue to evolve. Something that Blizzard has shown to have ample experience with WoW.
We still don't know when will Overwatch 2 arrive, although there are rumors that point to a launch this 2020. If so, we may hear from those responsible sooner rather than later.
