An article on PCGamesN shared some details about the new support, which has since been taken down. However, Reddit users have started retweeting what the original article revealed.
Lifeweaver’s abilities, first reported by PCGamesN and later shared to Reddit, include the following:
- petal platform – A pressure sensitive platform that rises when used by all heroes, Life Grip allows Lifeweaver to protect nearby allies and pull them into his position
- Rejuvenation Dash – Provides small bursts of passive healing to keep Lifeweaver alive while repositioning
- parting gift – Triggers on death and makes Weavers drop healing items that either team can use
- tree of Life – As long as it is active, heals allies around it, can be placed anywhere on the map
The article also shared why Lifeweaver has these abilities; Alec Dawson told PCGamesN, “Our goal was to create another support hero that doesn’t rely on aiming skills. Lifeweaver is designed for players who care more about their positioning.”
Lifeweaver also has access to an alternate primary fire called Thorn Valley, which allows him to deal damage to incoming targets. Ultimately, he’ll be a valuable support hero on coordinated teams, but I doubt anyone who likes to party in Overwatch 2 will have a good day with this guy.
