Lifeweaver just joined Overwatch 2 A few weeks ago, but he has had some big changes.
The newest support hero and healer, Lifeweaver, joined the first-person shooter earlier this month, but since fans found him a bit lacking, he’s been given a fresh treatment. He doesn’t have much of an edge as a character compared to other supports, which means he’s worth using alongside anyone else. Lead hero designer Alec Dawson will share some changes to the character in a Twitter thread next week to highlight some potential improvements.
For Healing Blossom, ammo count has been increased from 12 to 20, and “recharges slowly, now starts within 1 second of full charge.” Thorn Volley’s spread has also been tightened. Lifeweaver’s ultimate ability Tree of Life, an ability that spawns a tree within its radius, has its health increased from 1000 to 1200, and its healing per pulse increased from 50 to 75. Finally, the parting gift is flat out removed.
Game Director Aaron Keller has also shared some other changes to Lifeweaver in a new blog post, particularly related to his control scheme. For one, Thorn Volley has been moved to Alternate Fire, and Rejuvenation Rush can now be activated with a double jump. Petal platforms have now been moved to the first skill slot and can now be canceled by pressing the button again. Finally, “Lifeweaver’s passive reload speed will be slowed for weapons that are not currently being used by Lifeweaver.”
These changes will all arrive in a few days, on April 25th, so it remains to be seen how players will respond to them. He has the potential to be a powerful hero, but as with any field service game, some adjustments are needed at times.
