The successful online shooter Overwatch from Blizzard Entertainment will probably also make mobile platforms unsafe in the future.
The well-known games journalist and insider Jason Schreier is known to have written a book about Blizzard Entertainment – and some interesting news from it has found its way onto the Internet in the last few weeks. “Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment” also reveals interesting news regarding the Overwatch shooter franchise.
According to Schreier, the development studio is working on Overwatch Mobile, a special version of the successful online shooter for smartphones and tablets. Other shooter series such as Call of Duty have long since taken this step and are also popular on mobile devices.
The book now states: “Overwatch was led by Walter Kong, who also oversaw the release of regular new heroes and content for Overwatch 2, as well as new projects such as a mobile version of the franchise.”
However, Schreier initially left it open in the book what the status of this mobile implementation is and when it could potentially be published. Blizzard Entertainment itself hasn’t officially spoken about Overwatch Mobile yet.
