Palworld is currently fighting cheaters, which developer pocket pair It has been admitted that it has not been resolved so far.
If you’re one of the many players currently unable to log into Palworld due to server issues, you won’t be the only one, as apparently cheaters are making it difficult to fully play the game. Pocketpair is aware of this and acknowledged the issue in a recent Steam post, and while there’s no solution yet, it does have a plan on how to deal with the issue. “First, we plan to release player list functionality for the server in an update at the end of February,” the post reads.

“Through th is, we will strengthen the identification of cheating players and suspend their use by the development team. After this, we plan to introduce external anti-cheat solutions to take measures against particularly frequent fraudulent activities and cheating…. ..In addition to the above measures, we will continue to take thorough measures to combat further cheating and fraudulent activities.”
The post also states that this works on official servers; for community servers, single player and co-op, the anti-cheat solution is optional, so I guess if you just want to cheat with your friends, Pocketpair is open to that manner. Earlier in the article, though, it did say that it “does not tolerate any fraudulent activity or cheating,” so I’d still err on the side of caution.
As Palworld has grown in popularity, Pocketpair has struggled almost since launch, whether because of very high server costs or a general lack of staff (it’s trying to recruit more). Personally, I expect it will be a while before Palworld offers a fully smooth experience, but at least you can pick up a very unofficial Halloween costume in the meantime.
