As part of the PSX 2016, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced a remaster initiative for some of its previous classics for the PS4. At that time, the well-known game series included Parappa the Rapper, LocoRoco and Patapon, all of which were released in 2017 in HD form for the current home console. The PS4 2017 was followed by the announcement of the Patapon 2 Remaster, but since then there has been virtually no trace of the game – until now.
There was no longer any talk of the originally planned release in 2018 and in the meantime you had to worry whether the PS4 new edition of the PSP classic will still be released. That can now be answered in the affirmative, because Sony has now confirmed the release date of the PS4 version – and that is in the near future.
After the game was briefly mentioned on the PlayStation Blog in December, it is now clear: Patapon 2 Remaster will be available for the PS4 from January 30, 2020. It is still not known why the second part of the rhythm series was so long in coming.
On the PS4, Patapon 2 will shine in the finest 4K and should cost just under $ 15. The game offers over 30 missions and maintains the proven gameplay mix of rhythm and action.
