Cyberpunk 2077 after update 1.06: How well is the game running for you?
The cyberpunk patch isn’t big, but it does it probably fixes one of the most exhausting bugs for the PC at the moment. Because up to now your saved game could no longer be loaded if it was larger than 8MB. Then the next time you load it, you were greeted by the error message “The saved game is damaged and cannot be loaded”.
Often your save file got so big because your inventory was too huge or you had crafted too many items. All these problems should now vanish with the new patch 1.06, so that you no longer have to worry about your inventory (unless you have reached your carrying capacity).
How to best skill your V and which tips and tricks are still available in Night City, you can read in our large Guide Hub:
Previous saves are still lost despite the patch
As you can see in the patch notes below, CD Projekt has basically solved the problem that Update does not save your saved games that were already destroyed by the bug. So if you have already exceeded the 8MB limit, you still cannot save this memory status at the current time.
This means that you still have to choose an undamaged game save in order to be able to continue playing Cyberpunk 2077 with it. By installing the new update 1.06, you can be sure that the problem won’t ruin your game progress again.
These are the patch notes for Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.06:
- Dum Dum no longer disappears from the Dance of Death entrance during the second conflict.
- Improved memory management and stability prevent some crashes.
- 8MB limit removed. Important: This does not repair any saved saves that were broken before the update.
