In Patch 10.5 from League of Legends, developer Riot particularly takes the upper lane The declared goal is to eradicate the strategy of the “farmless top lane”. There are also new champions who can take on the role of junglers and the "Eternals" are now available. We have summarized the most important things from Patch Notes 10.5.
That changes at the top lane
The problem: Some players followed the strategy of a farmless top lane. This means that they chose a supporter instead of a usual top Laner champion. There are items for this role that give gold without killing vassals. In this way, players secure income without having to stay on their lane and farm.
Many found this way of playing to be unfair and Riot shares the opinion: Last year, the developer tried to put a stop to the whole thing via hotfixes.
The solution: Already in the last patch 10.4 the two champions Sona and Soraka were generated, who pursued this strategy particularly effectively.
Now there are changes to the towers of the upper lane: destroyed turret armor now gives more gold and takes more damage from melee. Support items can no longer be used on solo lanes. Those who abandon their lane in the future should suffer painful gold losses.
That changes with the champions
Weakening
- The Champions Ornn and Set are currently often chosen especially by professionals. Both get a nerf.
- For Orrn this means that his recent buff will be withdrawn immediately.
- Set is both a strong top laner and jungler and is weakened by lowering his core values in both roles.
- Also Amumu and Rammus were too strong after patch 10.4, this is now reversed.
Reinforcements
- Graves Riot was too "mediocre", so his Q ability and magic resistance are improved.
- Alistar gets a buff of his life energy and the cooldown of his passive ability is reduced.
- Sivir fell behind other ADCs, now their Q ability does more damage at higher ranks.
There are also small adjustments that are made Darius. Murder emperor and Poppy a good choice for the jungle.
That changes with objects
- Support items now require a nearby ally for the gold-awarding tribute activations, dead fellow combatants also count.
- Boots of Agility now give 60 instead of 55 running speeds.
- Boots of Mobility now cost 1000 gold instead of 900.
