Despite good reviews, Dragon’s Dogma 2 didn’t get off to a smooth start. The role-playing game is plagued by some performance problems, and the use of microtransactions is a source of much discussion.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Plans for upcoming updates
When should the patches be released? Capcom is currently still available no information about when the first patch should appear and at what frequency they can be expected. The X post simply says “as soon as they’re ready.”
Contents of the patches: Players on all platforms should be able to start a new game despite existing save data. This is currently only possible via detours.
On the consoles there should at least be an option to set the FPS to a fixed 30, but that doesn’t say whether frame drops will be a thing of the past.
You can find all of the changes released by Capcom below just an excerpt and sometimes differ from platform to platform.
Updates for all platforms – PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X & S, Steam
- Adding the option to start a new game if save data already exists.
- The number of Art of Metamorphosis items available from vassal guilds in the game will be changed to 99.
- The quest that allows players to acquire their own home (where they can store and rest) is now available earlier in the game.
- Various corrections to the text display.
- Various bug fixes.
Updates for PS5 and Xbox Series X & S
- Adding the option* to toggle motion blur on and off in the options.
- Adding the option* to turn ray tracing on and off in the options.
- Adding the option to set the frame rate to either Variable or Max 30fps in Settings.
*These options will not significantly affect frame rate. Framerate improvements are planned for future updates.
Updates on Steam
